Hello, I’m Pete, the owner of Wey Valley Pet Care.
After more than 30 years of public service, including over nine years in the British Army and a long career as a police officer, I wanted to build a local business founded on the same values that have guided me throughout my working life: trust, reliability, sound judgement and personal responsibility.
I understand that choosing someone to care for your pet is about much more than arranging a walk or a home visit. You are trusting that person with a much-loved member of your family and, in many cases, with access to your home. I do not take that responsibility lightly.
As a lifelong animal lover, I recognise that every pet is different. Some dogs are energetic and sociable, while others need patience, reassurance or a quieter approach. Cats and small animals also have their own routines and personalities. My aim is to provide calm, dependable care that is tailored to each individual animal rather than offering a one-size-fits-all service.

Every new client begins with a free meet and greet, giving me the opportunity to learn about your pet, their normal routine, health, behaviour and any particular needs.
New dogs will normally start with individual walks. This allows me to build trust, understand their behaviour and decide whether they may later enjoy walking with carefully selected, compatible dogs. I will never place convenience ahead of an animal’s safety or wellbeing.
